Mr Maheshwari developed an interest in hip and knee surgery early in his career, and has worked in highly renowned centres in the UK before starting his Consultant position. He has accomplished two accredited fellowships: a one-year fellowship in complex hip and knee replacement surgery at the Southern General Hospital, and a British Orthopaedic Association’s fellowship in joint replacement surgery at University Hospital of North Tees.

Further to his quality hip and knee orthopaedic practice, Mr Maheshwari is a prominent figure in medical education. At present, he sits on the national selection interview panel for orthopaedic trainees, and is an examiner for both The University of Glasgow and The Royal College of Surgeons. Mr Maheshwari, who is on the GMC’s specialist register for trauma and orthopaedic surgery, also serves as a secondary care appraiser at Golden Jubilee University National Hospital.

Dr Shahir Hamdulay is a renowned consultant in rheumatology and general internal medicine who is based in northwest London. He has a clinical interest in vasculitis, SLE and inflammatory connective tissue diseases.

He is a founder member of the National Pulmonary Hypertension Physicians Association and developed the Royal Free National Pulmonary Hypertension Service.

He holds research interests in fields of pulmonary hypertension, cardiac imaging and ischaemic heart disease and has published over 200 papers in peer-reviewed journals. Throughout his career, he has won awards such as the Molloy prize in 1978 and a silver medal in surgery in 1983, amongst others.

Notably, he completed two fellowships: one at the South West London Elective Orthopaedic Centre, and the other at the Royal London Hospital.

Mr Unnikrishnan was also awarded travelling fellowships on two occasions, firstly the Zimmer-Biomet travelling fellowship in 2018 and then in 2019 the European travelling fellowship from the British Hip Society. 

Mr Unnikrishnan treats patients in the renowned Robert Jones and Agnes Hunt Orthopaedic Hospital, from Wednesdays through to Saturdays. In addition to his clinical work, Mr Unnikrishnan is interested in research and has authored a large number of peer-reviewed publications. He presents at both national and international meetings frequently. He holds an honorary senior lecturer position at Edge Hill University, Ormskirk.

Additionally, Mr Vergani is also able to offer awake craniotomy procedures and spinal injections.

Beyond his highly specialised practice, Mr Vergani remains active in clinical research, and has authored more than 60 publications in high-impact peer-reviewed journals and book chapters. He is a member of the Society of British Neurosurgeons and a GMC-recognised trainer, and lectures both nationally and internationally on brain mapping and surgery in neuro-oncology. Mr Vergani was awarded with the distinguished Young Neurosurgeon Award from the World Federation of Neurosurgical Societies in 2015.
